Renting 101: How Do You Know It's Time To Move?
Ok, you're doing great. You're living the dream. You're out on your own, but now your needs have changed? Did you get a new job? OMG! Congratulations! That is so beyond exciting. Finally your putting all of that student loan debt to good use!
Maybe your engaged? Time to start that Family you and your partner have been talking about? Time to start planning that wedding!
All of these great things have happened... it is time to reevaluate your living situation. Living miles away from your new job is not convenient, in fact it could cost you more money with travel. Living in a small studio apartment isn't going to work anymore once your getting married and need to move ANOTHER person into your already small space.
It maybe time to move to another apartment/ house.
It is also time to take it back to the basics I have previously mentioned and review what is inside your means and what you need vs. what you have and what you want.
Can you afford the penthouse now or are you more suited for the 25th floor of that high rise? Be conciencious of what you have and what you need.
Maybe your options lay somewhere else besides renting an apartment, maybe since your getting married you and your future wife/husband want to look into buying your started home. If that is the case then you may want to consider staying somewhere smaller and saving every penny to put your 20% down to buy a home.
Bottom line is that knowing when to move is also about knowing when to not move. Staying inside of your means of living while moving forward to the next step.
